According to Ctrip, the order volume in Hunan during the Spring Festival holiday skyrocketed by 875% year on year, that of Changsha increased 10 times year on year, and that of homestay inns in the province surged by nearly 590% year on year. Multiple scenic areas such as Hunan Museum and Fenghuang Ancient Town were the important observation objects of travel platforms such as Fliggy and Qunar. The vast majority of tourist attractions in the province received more tourists than that of last year.
Throughout the province, more than 1,000 activities were held in accordance with local conditions, such as the Chinese New Year Temple Fair, the Lantern Show, the dragon and lion dance, and the Tujia and Miao New Year. The Changsha sub-venue of the Spring Festival Gala became a popular destination, and related topics continued to make headlines.
Powerful driving force for consumption
More than 200 preferential measures were introduced in various regions, and more than 10 million yuan of cultural and tourism consumption vouchers were distributed, effectively promoting the cultural and tourism consumption during the holiday. According to the big data of UnionPay, the average daily expenditure per tourist in the province was 702.55 yuan. The total holiday expenses of tourists in the province were 65.161 billion yuan, increasing by 40.8% year on year. Retail and catering consumption in Changsha reached a new high, with sales revenue of Yannian Hotel in Changsha increasing by 64.65% over the last year and 91.8% compared to the same period in 2019.
In order to satisfy tourists, key scenic areas increased personnel allocation, set up fast transit routes and volunteer service stations, and provided multiple heartwarming services such as free tea and volunteer explanations. According to the Hunan Smart Culture and Tourism Platform, during the Spring Festival holiday, tourists in Hunan had a comprehensive favorable rate of 80% for scenic areas in Hunan.
